Transport sailings are when we due to our work need to move, transport, the ship Elida between e.g. Sweden and Spain/Canary Islands (in the fall) or Canary Islands and Sweden (in the spring), and where we open up to the public to join us and try the sailing life.
All onboard are designated to one of three different watch teams, which is on duty four hours, followed by eight hours of rest (e.g. 8–12 morning and evening). No prior knowledge is required, but all help out according to ability and interest, with both kitchen duties and sailing/steering.
The transport sailings are divided into various legs, where you can choose either to come along for the whole voyage or sign on/off along the way. During these sails Elida functions as a private yacht, meaning you join us on your own responsibility and ”at your own risk”.
(Please note that although we set dates and locations for the various legs, these might sometimes need to be adjusted according to weather and winds, which is why it is good to be prepared to be flexible.)
Minimum age: 18 years (unless you come in the company of a parent/adult).
The voyage itself doesn’t cost anything, but we all help out to pay for the food, €45 per person and day (€35 per day for seniors and children/students).
